Metro Manila COVID-19 positivity rate drops to 4.9%

The COVID-19 positivity rate in Metro Manila has decreased to 4.9% as of July 1, a drop from 5% recorded on June 30, according to OCTA Research fellow Guido David.

Positivity rates in Laguna and Rizal have also fallen below 5%.

The DOH reported a total of 4,164,360 COVID-19 cases nationwide as of June 29, with 7,896 active cases.

On June 29, the country logged 503 new cases, zero deaths, and 384 recoveries, with the NCR contributing 131 cases.

Dr. Edsel Salvana, a former DOH adviser, indicated that case numbers could still increase due to various factors and reminded the public that the pandemic is ongoing.
