OCTA: NCR’s COVID-19 healthcare utilization rate climbs to 35.6%
The healthcare utilization rate (HCUR) for COVID-19 in the National Capital Region (NCR) has increased to 35.6% as of July 25, according to OCTA Research.
This is an increase from the 31.7% recorded on July 24, with ICU utilization also rising slightly to 28% from 27.3%.
The HCUR includes the utilization of intensive care units (ICU), isolation beds, and mechanical ventilators.
Muntinlupa and Pasig reported moderate HCUR rates at 64.6% and 56.4% respectively.
The Department of Health (DOH) previously warned of a potential rise in HCUR by late August or early September.
DOH projects a surge in COVID-19 cases nationally if booster uptake is not increased, as immunity wanes.
