NBI rescues minor victim of online exploitation in Cavite

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) successfully rescued a minor who was a victim of online sexual exploitation in Bacoor City, Cavite.

This operation stemmed from a referral by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) via the Philippine Internet Crimes Against Children Center (PICACC).

The investigation targeted a foreign national suspected of online child sexual abuse and exploitation, as well as the distribution of related materials.

These alleged actions constitute violations of the "Anti-Online Sexual Abuse or Exploitation of Children (OSAEC) and Anti Child Sexual Abuse or Exploitation Materials (CSAEM) Act" and the "Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012."

The foreign national was reportedly grooming the victim for exploitation, leading to repeated instances of online sexual abuse.

NBI-HTRAD, in collaboration with NBI CAVIDO-North, conducted surveillance to confirm the victim's location and identity.

Following validation, NBI-HTRAD coordinated with multiple agencies, including the DOJ-IACAT, NCC-OSAEC-CSAEM, CSWD-Cavite, and local police, to ensure the victim's safety and facilitate the operation.
