2nd rider files raps vs 11 MPD DEU cops over alleged framing

A second delivery rider, Nicole Owen Solleza, has filed an administrative complaint before the National Police Commission against 11 Manila Police District Drug Enforcement Unit (MPD DEU) officers, corroborating a previous rider's account of being framed.

Solleza alleged that officers apprehended him and another rider, Chester Dumaran, pointed guns at them, and beat them in a car.

The officers reportedly drove them around Rizal province for hours, attempting to force confessions to fabricated drug charges.

Solleza claims the police confiscated P10,000 in cash and his cellphone, and a motorcycle was also taken.

While the first complainant managed to escape, Solleza was reportedly detained and later freed by a court for lack of evidence.

The Philippine National Police (PNP) has launched an investigation into the allegations of abduction, assault, and robbery against the MPD DEU operatives.

Acting PNP chief Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. stated that those found guilty will face due process and appropriate charges.
