NBI, PNP deny knowledge of VP Sara's alleged assassination plot

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) stated that they have not received any information regarding threats against Vice President Sara Duterte's life or claims of an assassination attempt by one of her security personnel.

NBI director Jaime Santiago confirmed that the bureau had no intelligence on any threats directed at the Vice President.

Santiago also clarified that the NBI had not been informed of Duterte's specific claim that a security aide had tried to harm her.

The Philippine National Police (PNP) also said it has not received information on the supposed threat against Vice President Sara Duterte, with PNP spokesperson Police Brigadier General Jean Fajardo presuming any threat would have been forwarded to the Vice Presidential Security and Protection Group (VPSPG).

The Vice President is protected by the Presidential Security Command, implying that any security concerns would typically be handled by that unit.

Duterte had earlier made accusations of assassination plots involving President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr., First Lady Louise "Liza" Araneta-Marcos, and Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez in connection with the House's actions.

Duterte on Saturday said that she ordered to have President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. assassinated should an alleged plot against her succeed, but later clarified that her remark was not a threat and that she was only highlighting the alleged threat to her security.
