NBI files graft raps vs Alice Guo, 35 officials over illegal POGO land conversion

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) is filing new criminal and administrative complaints against former Bamban, Tarlac mayor Alice Guo and 35 other local officials for allegedly facilitating illegal land conversion for a POGO.

The complaints will be filed before the Office of the Ombudsman, targeting Guo, her vice mayor and councilors, as well as officials from the previous administration.

Charges include violations of the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act and Article 216 of the Revised Penal Code, concerning prohibited interests of public officers.

Additionally, administrative charges for gross misconduct, serious dishonesty, and conduct prejudicial to the best interest of the service will be filed.

The NBI highlighted that the land conversion was grossly disadvantageous to the government, with an appraised value of P3.9 billion but only P10,000 paid in real property tax, and zero tax paid for the buildings.
