NBI arrests 3 over fake overseas jobs contracts

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) arrested three individuals at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (Naia) for presenting falsified overseas employment contracts.

The suspects, identified as Rhea Borda, Nora Tafallo, and Baby Margarico, were apprehended on August 20 while attempting to depart for Hong Kong.

During routine inspections, border control and immigration officers discovered that the three had submitted fraudulent overseas employment contracts.

An NBI investigation revealed that the suspects were recruited online to work as customer service representatives in Cambodia.

The arrested individuals stated that an immigration officer, Mohammad Rashid Alonto, had initially cleared them for departure to Hong Kong.

The NBI is currently pursuing Immigration Officer Alonto, who remains at large.
