MWSS-RO orders water concessionaires to extend disconnection suspension until Aug 31

Maynilad and Manila Water have been ordered by the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System Regulatory Office (MWSS-RO) to extend their suspension of water disconnection activities throughout the modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) period in Metro Manila.

The suspension is effective until the MECQ, which runs from August 21 to August 31, is lifted, ensuring continuous water supply for consumers.

This directive follows an earlier order for the water concessionaires to suspend disconnections during the previous enhanced community quarantine (ECQ).

Maynilad confirmed its compliance, stating that while disconnections will be halted, meter reading will continue under strict health protocols to ensure accurate billing.

Manila Water also affirmed its adherence to the MWSS-RO's directive.
