Meralco suspends disconnection activities until Aug 31

Meralco has extended the suspension of disconnection activities in Metro Manila, Laguna, Bulacan, Cavite, Rizal, and Lucena City until August 31, coinciding with the Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ) period in these areas.

The power utility had previously suspended disconnections from August 6 to 20 during the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) in these regions.

Meralco assures customers in areas under General Community Quarantine (GCQ) that the company will remain considerate and offer assistance.

Vital operations, including meter reading, bill delivery, and service crew deployments, will continue as usual to ensure customers are billed accurately based on consumption.

The company understands the financial difficulties consumers face during quarantine periods and is willing to arrange payment leeway for those who communicate their situation in good faith.

Meralco also provided safety tips for customers during the typhoon season, emphasizing precautions against electrical hazards during floods and other related situations.
