The Department of Transportation (DOTr) will offer free rides on the MRT-3, LRT-1, and LRT-2 on June 12, 2024, to celebrate the 126th Philippine Independence Day.

The free ride offer is valid during two specific time slots: from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and again from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

DOTr Assistant Secretary Jorjette Aquino stated that the free rides are a simple way to commemorate Independence Day and a reminder to protect the freedom for which national heroes sacrificed.

The Light Rail Manila Corporation announced that LRT 1 will operate on a normal holiday schedule with the first train from Baclaran and Fernando Poe Jr. stations at 5:00 AM and the last train at 9:30 PM from Baclaran Station and 9:45 PM from Fernando Poe Jr. Station.
