MPD gears up for Black Nazarene feast
The Manila Police District (MPD) and officials from the Minor Basilica and National Shrine of the Black Nazarene have finalized the route for the Traslacion 2025.
Two walkthroughs were conducted to assess and ensure the safety of the procession path from the Quirino Grandstand to Quiapo Church.
The most recent walkthrough on Friday, December 27th, focused on addressing identified changes and inspecting improvements in safety and security issues.
A security contingent including the Armed Forces of the Philippines, Philippine National Police, Philippine Coast Guard, and various local government units will secure the procession route on January 9, 2025.
MPD director Brig. Gen. Arnold Thomas Ibay led the final walk-through for security personnel.
Several other government agencies, including the MMDA, Bureau of Fire Protection, and Manila City Engineering, participated in the final inspection.
