Miss Grand International 2020 first runner-up Samantha Bernardo tests positive for COVID-19

Filipina beauty queen Samantha Bernardo has announced her positive result for COVID-19 through an RT-PCR test conducted on Sunday, January 9.

Bernardo, who was the first runner-up in the Miss Grand International 2020 pageant, shared on Instagram that she is experiencing weakness and a cold but can still smell and taste.

She expressed disappointment over the disruption to her scheduled work but committed to undergoing home quarantine and resting.

Despite her condition, she plans to continue her kumu livestreams on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at 6 PM to keep her fans updated.

Bernardo previously represented the Philippines in the Miss Grand International 2020 competition in Thailand, securing the first runner-up position.

She was also the Binibining Pilipinas second runner-up in both 2018 and 2019, and was appointed to represent the country after the original titleholder faced age restrictions.
