Michelin Guide honors 108 PH restaurants, lauds new generation of chefs

The Michelin Guide has recognized 108 restaurants and eateries across the Philippines, highlighting a "new generation" of chefs who are innovating Filipino cuisine.

Michelin Guide international director Gwendal Poullennec specifically praised chefs under 30 for shaping a modern Filipino culinary era that is both innovative and distinctly Filipino.

Poullennec also noted that the genuine warmth and hospitality of the Filipino people significantly contributed to the recognition of these establishments.

Senator Loren Legarda filed a resolution commending the Philippine restaurants, chefs, and industry professionals recognized in the inaugural Michelin Guide Philippines 2026.

The Michelin Guide surveyed 108 establishments in Manila and Cebu, with Makati City becoming home to the country's lone two-Michelin-star establishment, Helm.

The guide showcased the remarkable diversity of Filipino dining, from fine dining and sustainable gastronomy to casual and regional eateries.

Legarda expressed hope that this recognition will uplift the local tourism industry and position the Philippines as a culinary hub in Asia.
