Metro Pacific Hospitals designates Lourdes Hospital as COVID-19 referral center

Metro Pacific Hospitals group has designated Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital as its main referral hospital for COVID-19 patients.

The group is also preparing to build tents to increase the bed capacity of its other hospitals nationwide.

All 15 hospitals under the group are tasked to review their resources to potentially double their COVID-19 bed capacity to over 600.

Supplemental tents will be prepared for non-critical COVID-19 cases as an extraordinary measure if the pandemic intensifies.

Pilar Nenuca Almira, head of Cardinal Santos Medical Center and Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, was appointed to lead the COVID-19 crisis team.

Manuel V. Pangilinan stated that the group is focusing its resources on providing critical hospital care for severely ill COVID-19 patients amidst the pandemic's unprecedented challenges.
