Metro Manila mayors back Marcos-backed Senate slate

Metro Manila mayors have declared their support for the Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas senatorial slate, which is backed by the Marcos administration.

The kickoff campaign rally for the alliance was held in Pasay City on Tuesday, February 18.

The Alyansa senatorial ticket includes former Senate President Vicente Sotto III, former DILG secretary Benhur Abalos, Senators Pia Cayetano, Imee Marcos, Francis Tolentino, Bong Revilla, Lito Lapid, ACT-CIS Party-list Rep. Erwin Tulfo, Deputy Speaker Camille Villar, and former Senators Panfilo Lacson and Manny Pacquiao.

San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora stated that he actively encouraged other mayors to support the coalition, citing beneficial government projects and programs.

Muntinlupa City Mayor Ruffy Biazon stressed the importance of electing senators who will support the administration's plans, stating, "The general call is that we have a Senate that fully supports our president so he can do what he needs to do in the remaining portion of his term."

Mandaluyong City Mayor Benjamin Abalos Sr. said the Alyansa slate is unbeatable if supporters remain united.

All 12 Alyansa candidates attended the rally at Cuneta Astrodome.

Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano endorsed the slate and called on residents to support it.
