Metro Manila COVID-19 cases drop 27%, says OCTA

Metro Manila's average daily COVID-19 cases have decreased by 27% to 1,479 from May 10-16, according to OCTA Research.

The reproduction number in the National Capital Region (NCR) is now 0.57 with a positivity rate of 11%.

The NCR's average daily attack rate (ADAR) is 10.71 per 100,000 population, which the Department of Health (DOH) classifies as high risk.

Seven NCR local government units (LGUs) are classified as moderate risk with ADAR below 10 per 100,000.

Navotas had the lowest ADAR at 5.99, while Pateros posted the highest at 32.35.

Health utilization rate (HCUR) in the NCR is at 45% with an intensive care unit (ICU) occupancy of 57%, both considered safe by the DOH.

Following DOH guidelines, 14 LGUs are considered safe in terms of HCUR, including Navotas, Malabon, Manila, Taguig, Caloocan, Pasay, Muntinlupa, Paranaque, Marikina, Las Pinas, Mandaluyong, Pasig, Pateros, and San Juan.
