Meralco unit signs PSA for conventional and renewable energy

Meralco PowerGen Corp. (MGEN) has signed two power supply agreements with EvoEnergi Inc. to provide both conventional and renewable energy to contestable customers.

These agreements, executed through MGEN's subsidiaries MThermal and MGreen, are projected to supply electricity sufficient for approximately 62,000 homes.

This collaboration enables MGEN to serve the dynamic retail electricity market and contribute to the Philippines' shift towards a cleaner and more stable energy landscape.

The partnership also broadens MGEN's renewable energy engagement beyond government initiatives and assists EvoEnergi in fulfilling its Renewable Portfolio Standards requirements.

EvoEnergi, an affiliate of D&L Industries, Inc., has entered the energy sector with a focus on industrial strength and sustainability.

Notably, EvoEnergi is one of the initial retail electricity suppliers in the Philippines to adopt the Retail Aggregation Program, enabling the consolidation of demand from multiple customers for competitive electricity sourcing.
