Mayor Isko Moreno proposes Intramuros golf course conversion to forest park

Manila Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso met with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to discuss major development projects in the capital city, including housing, bridges, transportation, and urban redevelopment.

A key proposal explored was the conversion of the Intramuros golf course into a public forest park, which is managed by the Intramuros Administration, an attached agency of the Department of Tourism.

Mayor Moreno collaborated with urban planner Architect Felino 'Jun' Palafox Jr. to develop this concept, noting the golf course's current underutilization.

The proposed forest park aims to enhance sustainability and public well-being within the densely populated city.

Additionally, Mayor Moreno informed the President about ongoing reforms in the Manila Zoning Board to streamline business and investment processes.

The Mayor also presented the city government's 10-year comprehensive development plan, which included the restoration of Plaza Calderon, rehabilitation of Lawton Underpass, construction of the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila College of Health and Sciences, completion of Binondominium 2 and 3, and construction of four in-city vertical housing towers within the Bureau of Plant Industry compound.
