Mati City confirms first Mpox case

Mati City, Davao Oriental has confirmed its first case of Mpox, prompting immediate containment measures and calls for public vigilance.

The patient, who presented mild symptoms and was clinically stable, was identified through telemedicine services and confirmed by RITM.

Health authorities have initiated contact tracing and are monitoring close contacts as per national guidelines.

The patient is currently recovering well and undergoing home isolation.

Enhanced monitoring is being implemented by the City Health Office and barangay-based surveillance units.

Mpox is known to spread primarily through close contact with individuals exhibiting active lesions.
