Bulacan gov directs LGUs to prepare mpox facilities after 2 cases confirmed

Governor Daniel Fernando of Bulacan has directed local government units (LGUs) to prepare temporary facilities for mpox cases following the confirmation of two cases in San Jose Del Monte City.

Both confirmed mpox cases in the province, identified as the less severe Clade II strain, have fully recovered.

The identified cases were not linked, and their close contacts completed isolation as a precaution and remained asymptomatic.

Hospitals have been reminded to ensure surge capacity and isolation readiness, while health offices were tasked to report suspect cases.

Dedicated hotlines have been established for patient referrals, and the provincial government assures residents that necessary precautions are being taken to prevent further transmission.

Contrary to rumors, the provincial government has no plans to implement lockdowns in Bulacan.

The Department of Health advises the public to remain vigilant, practice proper hygiene, and seek medical consultation if symptoms such as rashes, fever, or swollen lymph nodes appear.
