Marikina mayor takes oath as congressman

Marikina City Mayor Marcelino "Marcy" Teodoro has taken his oath as the newly elected congressman for the city's first district.

Teodoro was proclaimed and subsequently took his oath of office before Judge Romeo Dizon Tagra at the Marikina City Hall of Justice.

He affirmed that no temporary restraining order was in place to halt his proclamation, emphasizing the Supreme Court had not issued any such statement.

The mayor confirmed his intention to file charges against the Marikina Comelec election officer responsible for the delay in his proclamation.

Teodoro stated that the delay was unnecessary and potentially harmful to the constituents who were left without a congressional representative.

He believes the election officer should be held accountable if it is proven that the delay was malicious or intentional without basis.
