PBBM prioritizes high food prices, probes rice cost surge

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. is prioritizing the issue of rising food commodity prices, with a particular focus on the significant increase in rice prices, Malacañang confirmed.

Presidential Communications Office Undersecretary Claire Castro stated that the President is actively investigating the underlying causes of the sudden surge in rice costs.

Marcos is determined to find effective solutions to alleviate the problem and ensure food security for the nation.

Castro also issued a stern warning against individuals involved in smuggling and hoarding agricultural products, emphasizing that economic saboteurs will face severe sanctions.

The administration is committed to identifying and prosecuting those who manipulate prices for illicit gain.
