Marcos names Dante Ang II as new Commission on Filipinos Overseas chair
President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. has appointed Dante Francis "Klink" Ang II as the new chairperson of the Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO).
Ang II, who is also the chairman and CEO of The Manila Times, will succeed Romulo V. Arugay in the position.
Marcos Jr. also appointed Ang II as an acting member of the board of directors of the Clark International Airport Corporation in March 2023.
He previously served as the National Book Development Board chairman.
Ang II was also a nominee of the party-list group Ahon Pinoy in the 2010 elections, which aimed to protect the rights of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs).
His father, Dante Arevalo Ang, was appointed by former president Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo to the same CFO post from 2005 to 2010.
The CFO is an agency under the Office of the President mandated to promote and uphold the interests, rights, and welfare of overseas Filipinos and strengthen their ties with the Motherland.
