PBBM meets ambassadors, boosts PH ties with Sweden, Egypt, Slovenia, Palestine

President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. met with the ambassadors of Slovenia, Sweden, Palestine, and Egypt to strengthen diplomatic ties.

Swedish Ambassador-designate Anna Ferry conveyed Sweden's view of the Philippines as a "priority partner" due to shared values and affirmed support for UNCLOS and freedom of navigation.

President Marcos Jr. expressed the Philippines' desire to enhance bilateral relations with Sweden, noting the significant growth in their relationship, particularly in trade and investments.

In 2023, investments from Sweden to the Philippines reached USD11.81 million (PHP684.79 million), a significant increase from USD5.74 million in 2022.

Egyptian Ambassador-designate Nader Nabil Zaki affirmed Egypt's commitment to strengthening bilateral relations, trade, investments, and cultural exchanges with the Philippines.

The President received the credentials of Ambassador-designate Smiljana Knez of Slovenia, Ambassador-designate Mounir Y.K. Anastas of Palestine, and Ambassador-designate Nader Nabil Zaki of Egypt.
