Manila vaccinates 1,499 health workers with Sinovac

As of Friday, March 5, Manila has completed the first dose vaccination of 1,499 medical front-liners with the 3,000 doses of Sinovac COVID-19 vaccine allocated to the city.

The city received the CoronaVac doses on March 1, enough for 1,500 individuals, but one vial was found broken upon opening, prompting a report to the Department of Health.

Manila Mayor Francisco 'Isko Moreno' Domagoso expressed satisfaction with the rapid vaccination rollout, which began on Tuesday, and noted the absence of reported adverse reactions.

Domagoso stated, "Apat na araw lamang ay nailunsad natin ng maayos ang vaccination rollout. Salamat sa Diyos, its been four days wala pang napaulat na masamang epekto sa mga nabakunahan na ng Sinovac. Alam kong yan ang ipinag-aalala nyo."

The vaccination drive also included health workers from private hospitals.
