Manila opens 2 drive-thru Covid-19 testing centers

Manila Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso inaugurated a drive-thru Covid-19 testing center in front of the Andres Bonifacio Monument.

The Manila Health Department is utilizing three newly-purchased Covid-19 serology testing machines to process blood samples collected at the drive-thru, which offers free testing for residents and non-residents.

Around 250 individuals were tested on the first day of the drive-thru center, with about 170 results released on the same day.

Due to long queues causing traffic, another drive-thru testing center will open at the Quirino Grandstand with a capacity of up to 700 people.

This new facility will have six designated lanes for various vehicles to speed up accommodation.

Mayor Moreno reiterated the goal of providing 'peace of mind' through free testing, with improvements to the system expected within 48 hours.
