Manila administers over 1M vaccine doses

Manila has administered over 1 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines as of Tuesday, July 20, reaching a total of 1,063,934 doses.

The city administered a record-high 44,077 vaccines in a single day on Tuesday, July 20.

Of the vaccines administered on July 20, 19,911 were first doses and 24,166 were second doses.

On Tuesday, 96.94 percent of the 24,930 target individuals showed up to get fully vaccinated, with 24,166 residents receiving their second dose.

Mayor Francisco 'Isko Moreno' Domagoso expressed optimism about the high vaccination turnout, stating it is a good sign that people want to be fully protected.

Domagoso also noted that Manila sometimes records over 100 percent of its second dose target.

Despite heavy rains and flooding on Wednesday, residents continued to get vaccinated, with Domagoso emphasizing that neither the weather nor Covid-19 rests.
