Mandaluyong City Prosecutor dismisses Atong Ang's complaints vs whistleblower

The Mandaluyong City Prosecutor's Office dismissed all complaints filed by businessman Atong Ang against whistleblower Julie Patidongan and her former employee Alan Batiles, citing a lack of sufficient prima facie evidence.

The dismissed complaints, filed in July, included conspiracy to commit attempted robbery with violence or intimidation, grave threats, grave coercion, slander, and inciting an innocent person.

Ang had accused Patidongan and Batiles of extortion attempts and threatening to falsely implicate him as the mastermind in the "missing sabungeros" case.

Patidongan had previously accused Ang of being the mastermind, and Ang also claimed Patidongan attempted to extort P300 million from him.

Ang's lawyer stated that they would file an appeal to the Department of Justice by the end of the month.
