Makati to distribute 81,995 food packs to students

The Makati City government will distribute 81,995 food packs to students and their families affected by the enhanced community quarantine in Luzon due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The P85 million worth of food packs will be given to 44,951 elementary students (Kinder to Grade 6) and 37,044 high school students (Grade 7 to Grade 12), including SPED learners.

Elementary students will receive a shirt and various food items such as oatmeal, raisins, cheese, hotcake mix, arroz caldo mix, champorado mix, milk, tonic food drink, cereals, biscuits, crackers, and jelly.

High school students will also receive a shirt along with items like oatmeal, cheese, hotcake mix, arroz caldo mix, champorado, milk, tonic food drink, crackers, instant noodles, pineapple juice, and pineapple tidbits.

Mayor Abigail Binay urged students to stay home and follow curfew rules to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The city has also implemented a curfew policy from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. as part of its safety measures.
