Makati starts distributing P5k financial aid to residents

Makati City began distributing P5,000 in financial aid to eligible residents on May 13 through e-money transfers, releasing P364 million to 72,777 individuals on the first day.

The MAKA-tulong 5K for 500K+ Makatizens program, with a budget of P2.7 billion, aims to provide individual financial assistance as the city eases out of lockdown.

Households with multiple qualified members can receive up to P20,000 if both parents, a child, and a grandparent are eligible.

Mayor Abby Binay ensured this program would proceed after the distribution of the Social Amelioration Program (SAP) cash subsidy.

Existing beneficiaries of city aid, including seniors, PWDs, informal workers, and solo parents, are still eligible for the P5,000 assistance.

To qualify, applicants must be at least 18 years old, a resident of Makati or its relocation sites, and registered as a Makatizen Card holder, Yellow Card holder, or Makati voter.

Those who already have a Makatizen Card with a valid G-Cash account will automatically receive P5,000 through e-Wallet without needing to apply.
