Makati City raids POGO hub over alleged scam activities

Authorities raided 21 floors of a POGO hub on Ayala Avenue in Makati City based on intelligence reports of scam activities.

The operation, led by the Makati Business Permits and Licensing Office (Makati BPLO) in coordination with other agencies, targeted the PBCom Tower.

PAOCC Executive Director Usec. Gilbert Cruz stated that the hub housed 21 companies allegedly involved in scamming operations.

Despite anticipating hundreds of individuals, officials and employees were not found at the location.

PAOCC believes the POGO hub may have been tipped off about the raid, as workers were reportedly seen leaving the building shortly before the operation.

The raid was prompted by information that several Internet Gaming Licensees (IGLs) were operating despite the government's POGO ban.

PAOCC is collaborating with the Makati City licensing office to ensure the complete closure of the POGO hub.
