PNP CIDG nabs 1,886 suspects in February operations

The Philippine National Police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP CIDG) apprehended 1,886 suspects in February 2025 through 1,047 operations.

Among those arrested were 459 foreigners, with 429 allegedly linked to illegal Philippine offshore gaming operators (Pogo) and internet gaming licensees (IGLs).

The operations led to the filing of 167 criminal complaints and the closure of four Pogo and IGL facilities.

Evidence seized, valued at over P195.5 million, included 128 firearms, 9,015 explosives, and 1,708 rounds of ammunition.

These intensified efforts aim to improve crime prevention and solution efficiency.

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. had previously announced a total ban on POGO operations effective December 31, 2024, and issued Executive Order No. 74 imposing an immediate ban on offshore and internet gaming on November 8, 2024.
