Makati, Navotas secure AstraZeneca vaccine doses

Makati City and Navotas City have secured doses of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine for their constituents.

Makati City Mayor Abby Binay announced that one million doses of AstraZeneca vaccines have been secured for city residents and non-resident property and business owners.

The Makati City government is also in the process of finalizing agreements with other vaccine manufacturers and plans to launch an information campaign to address concerns about vaccination.

Navotas City Mayor Toby Tiangco stated that the local government has signed an agreement to purchase 100,000 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine.

Initially, 50,000 Navotas residents will be vaccinated in the second half of 2021, with the mayor mentioning a budget of P25 million for the AstraZeneca vaccines.

Despite the agreement, a survey indicated that only 3.80 percent of Navotas residents chose AstraZeneca, and the city also plans to purchase vaccines from Pfizer.
