Mactan-Cebu airport runway repairs completed, operations resume

Flight operations at Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA) have resumed normal activities after runway repairs were completed.

The MCIA announced that the primary runway, which had been undergoing immediate repair works due to damaged pavement, was fully operational as of 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.

At least 37 flights were cancelled or delayed earlier in the day because of the runway disruption.

Cebu Pacific confirmed at least 10 of its flights were cancelled.

Philippine Airlines also confirmed earlier cancellations, advising passengers to check their flight statuses.

The Mactan-Cebu airport, the country's second busiest gateway, handled 11.3 million passengers last year.
