Lucena City COVID-19 cases jump to 61

Lucena City has recorded 13 new cases of COVID-19 in a 24-hour period, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 61.

The City Health Office (CHO) is actively engaged in contact tracing for the new cases.

The city had previously reached zero positive cases on May 20 after all 29 patients recovered.

However, the implementation of the General Community Quarantine (GCQ) and the lifting of the liquor ban on June 1 have been followed by a gradual increase in new infections.

As of Tuesday evening, Lucena City also has 150 suspect cases and eight probable cases.

Across Quezon province, the Integrated Provincial Health Office (IPHO) has reported a total of 127 positive cases.
