The Light Rail Transit Line 1 (LRT1) has extended its weekday operating hours by 30 minutes starting March 26, with the last train from Dr. Santos Station departing at 10:30 p.m. and from Fernando Poe Jr. Station at 10:45 p.m.
Weekday first train schedules remain at 4:30 a.m. from both stations, while weekend and holiday first train departures are at 5:00 a.m.
The LRT1 operator, Light Rail Manila Corp. (LRMC), stated this extension aligns with the Department of Transportation's (DOTr) initiative to benefit the riding public.
LRMC president and CEO Enrico Benipayo noted that the extension was planned to not significantly impact the maintenance window, ensuring continuous availability, reliability, and safety of the service.
This extension complements the one-hour extension granted to the Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT3), whose southbound stations close after 10 p.m. and northbound stations run until around 11 p.m. on weekdays.
LRMC has also deployed additional trains as needed to improve passenger convenience and ensure a more efficient commuting experience.
Passengers are advised by LRMC to plan their travel accordingly, as ticket booths will close five minutes before the departure of the last train from each station.
