A low-pressure area (LPA) outside the Philippine area of responsibility has developed into a tropical depression, according to Pagasa.
The tropical depression was monitored as of 8 p.m. Sunday, June 22, 2025, and was located 2,560 kilometers east-northeast of Extreme Northern Luzon.
It is sustaining maximum winds of 55 km/h and gustiness of 70 km/h, moving northwestward at 10 km/h.
Pagasa weather specialist Veronica Torres stated that the tropical depression will have no direct effect on the country and is not likely to enter the PAR for now.
The southwest monsoon, or habagat, is currently influencing Central and Southern Luzon, as well as western parts of Visayas and Mindanao.
Habagat is expected to cause cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms in Metro Manila, Calabarzon, Soccsksargen, Pangasinan, Zambales, Bataan, Occidental Mindoro, Palawan, the Bicol Region, Western Visayas, Negros Island Region, Zamboanga Peninsula, BARMM, and the rest of Central Luzon and MIMAROPA.
These moderate to at times heavy rains may cause flash floods and landslides.
