LPA, habagat to bring rains across PH

A Low Pressure Area (LPA) and the southwest monsoon (habagat) are expected to bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms to most parts of the Philippines on Wednesday, July 12, 2023.

The LPA, located 510 kilometers east northeast of Virac, Catanduanes, is heading northwest toward Northern Luzon and may develop into a tropical cyclone, which would be the country's fourth for 2023 and first for July, named Dodong.

The southwest monsoon, affecting the western parts of Visayas and Mindanao after a monsoon break, will also bring rains.

Areas including Bicol Region, MIMAROPA, Western Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, BARMM, SOCCSKSARGEN, and Quezon may experience moderate to heavy rains that could cause flash floods or landslides.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.
