LGUs, GOCCs tapped to identify quarantine facilities

Local government units (LGUs) and government-owned and controlled corporations (GOCCs) are directed to identify government facilities that can be used for quarantine or isolation purposes due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

This directive was issued by the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID).

The Department of Tourism (DOT) and other agencies are also tasked to help identify potential facilities.

All identified facilities shall be reported to the National Incident Command of the National Task Force (NTF) on COVID-19 and the Task Group on Resource Management and Logistics.

Identified facilities will be classified for either Patients Under Investigation (PUI) isolation or for managing mild COVID-19 cases.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is directed to conduct site inspections and commence work on approved facilities, with accredited construction workers exempted from home quarantine.
