Lakas-CMD dominates House, backs Marcos Jr.'s agenda

Lakas-CMD has emerged as the dominant political party in the House of Representatives, winning 104 seats and securing 15 governorships, 22 vice-governorships, 24 city mayoral seats, 23 city vice-mayoral positions, and 385 municipal mayoral posts.

The party has pledged its full legislative support for President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s "Bagong Pilipinas" agenda.

House Speaker Martin Romualdez, who also heads Lakas-CMD, viewed the election results as a validation of the party's candidates and leadership.

He expressed gratitude to the Filipino people for reinforcing the party's position as a catalyst for progress and good governance.

Romualdez emphasized that Lakas-CMD's electoral success reflects a commitment to long-term leadership, service, and national development.

However, an Ateneo de Manila University political science professor, Arjan P. Aguirre, suggested that while Lakas-CMD secured a strong showing, their numbers may have dropped.
