Lacson prioritizes Blue Ribbon internal cleansing amid corruption allegations

Senate President Pro Tempore Panfilo Lacson, the newly elected chairman of the Blue Ribbon committee, will prioritize its internal cleansing due to corruption allegations.

This action follows accusations linking a supposed committee staff member, Beng Ramos, to anomalies in flood control projects.

Hernandez presented conversations from December 2022 with Ramos, whom he identified as a staff of Senator Jinggoy Estrada, in a House hearing.

Estrada denied having a staff member named Beng Ramos, stating the individual was under the Blue Ribbon committee and was a former girlfriend of one of his staff.

Lacson emphasized the committee's role in investigating government misconduct and accountability, stressing the need for simultaneous internal cleansing.

He was elected as the new chairman of the Blue Ribbon panel on Tuesday, succeeding Senator Rodante Marcoleta.
