Lacson, Sotto to endorse 15 senatorial bets

The tandem of Senators Panfilo Lacson and Vicente Sotto III will endorse 15 senatorial candidates for Eleksyon 2022.

The announced slate includes former Senators Loren Legarda, JV Ejercito, Chiz Escudero, Jejomar Binay, Gregorio Honasan, and incumbent Senators Sherwin Gatchalian, Joel Villanueva, Juan Miguel "Migz" Zubiri, and Richard "Dick" Gordon.

Also included are former Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista, former Agriculture Secretary Manny Piñol, Dr. Minguita Padilla, former Makati Rep. Monsour del Rosario, Paolo Redemptus Capino, and broadcaster Raffy Tulfo.

These candidates are drawn from Partido Reporma, chaired by Lacson, and the Nationalist People's Coalition, chaired by Sotto, as well as other political parties.

Lacson stated that they have a "surprise candidate" joining their senatorial slate, who turned out to be Raffy Tulfo.

While they plan to adopt all 15 candidates, Lacson indicated the final choice of 12 senators will be left to the Filipino electorate.

Many of the veteran reelectionists on the Lacson-Sotto slate are also found on the slates of Vice President Leni Robredo and Senator Manny Pacquiao.
