Lacson: Rep. Barzaga possibly manipulated for political agenda

Senate President Pro Tempore Panfilo Lacson suggested that Cavite Rep. Kiko Barzaga might have been manipulated by certain groups to advance their own agendas and undermine the Senate's investigation into questionable flood control projects.

Lacson expressed sympathy for Dasmariñas City Mayor Jenny Barzaga, Kiko's mother, believing that her son's mental state was exploited for political purposes.

Lacson pointed out that although Barzaga posted an old photograph of him with the Discaya couple, someone must have provided the image to him.

The senator previously clarified that the photo with the Discayas was taken during a campaign period, long before the investigation into the anomalous flood control projects commenced.

Lacson also mentioned that a supporter from Davao City had brought the Discaya couple to invite him to a political rally, an invitation he ultimately declined.
