Kuwait sentences killer of Filipina OFW to 14 years

The perpetrator responsible for the death of Filipina overseas worker Dafnie Nacalaban in Kuwait has been sentenced to 14 years in prison.

Three accomplices involved in the crime have also been convicted and received one-year prison sentences.

DMW Secretary Hans Cacdac expressed gratitude to Kuwaiti authorities for the judgment that brings justice to Nacalaban and her family.

The Department of Migrant Workers continues to provide support and assistance to Nacalaban's family in Mindanao.

Nacalaban, 35, was reported missing in October after her last communication with her family, planning a surprise return in December.

Her body was later discovered in a decomposed state at her employer's residence in Jahra after the main suspect surrendered to the authorities.
