Pangilinan files COC for Senate comeback

Former Senator Francis "Kiko" Pangilinan filed his certificate of candidacy on October 8, aiming for a Senate comeback in the 2025 elections.

He is running under the Liberal Party and was accompanied by his wife, Sharon Cuneta, when he filed his COC.

Pangilinan stated his intention to focus on agriculture and food security, recalling his efforts during the Aquino administration where he served as presidential assistant for food security and agricultural modernization.

He mentioned that during the Aquino administration, rice inflation was reduced from 15% to 0.8% within a year in 2014.

Pangilinan, the principal author of the Sagip Saka law, ran for vice president in 2022 but was defeated by Sara Duterte.

Despite acknowledging the upcoming race as an "uphill battle," Pangilinan is committed to working hard to make each vote count.
