Quiambao, Amos called up to Gilas pool for FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers

Kevin Quiambao of De La Salle University has been called up to the Gilas Pilipinas pool for the November window of the 2025 FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers, alongside fellow Green Archer Mason Amos.

Quiambao expressed his excitement and gratitude for the opportunity to represent the Philippines, viewing it as both a privilege and a challenge.

Despite ongoing UAAP Season 87 duties, Quiambao will join the national team's lineup as confirmed by Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) President Al Panlilio.

Panlilio clarified that Quiambao's UAAP games on November 20 and 23 do not involve La Salle, allowing him to participate in the qualifiers.

The Philippine men's national basketball team will compete in the qualifiers on November 21 and 25 at the Mall of Asia Arena.

The expanded pool also includes notable players such as Dwight Ramos, Carl Tamayo, Kai Sotto, CJ Perez, June Mar Fajardo, Chris Newsome, Calvin Oftana, Justin Brownlee, Japeth Aguilar, and Scottie Thompson.

SBP envisions this roster to be part of a journey towards competing in the 2027 World Cup and potentially the Olympics beyond that.
