Kerwin Espinosa says Duterte ordered father's killing

Self-confessed drug lord Kerwin Espinosa testified at the House of Representatives, stating his belief that former President Rodrigo Duterte ordered the 2016 killing of his father, former Albuera, Leyte mayor Rolando Espinosa Sr.

Espinosa cited Duterte's public statements threatening to kill those on the narco-list as his basis for believing the former president was behind his father's death.

The elder Espinosa was killed by policemen during a raid in his jail cell in Leyte on November 5, 2016, after being tagged by Duterte as involved in the illegal drug trade.

Kerwin Espinosa also accused Senator Ronald "Bato" Dela Rosa of pressuring him to confess to drug involvement and implicate high-profile figures, including former Senator Leila de Lima, in the drug trade.

Both Espinosas have been linked to illegal drugs during the Duterte administration, but cases filed against Kerwin have recently been dismissed.
