Justice Sec orders NBI probe into Percy Lapid co-accused's death

Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla has directed the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to thoroughly investigate the death of Ricardo Zulueta, a co-accused in the Percy Lapid slay case.

Initial police reports attributed Zulueta's death to heart failure, but his death certificate lists cerebrovascular disease with intracranial hemorrhage as the cause, creating confusion.

Remulla has ordered the NBI to uncover the truth behind Zulueta's demise and has not ruled out seeking the expertise of forensic pathologist Dr. Raquel Fortun for an independent autopsy.

The Justice Secretary urged the Philippine National Police (PNP) to share their findings, as the PNP had previously stated that no foul play was involved in Zulueta's death.
