Janine Gutierrez mourns loss of grandmothers Pilita Corrales and Nora Aunor

Actress Janine Gutierrez is mourning the loss of her two grandmothers, entertainment icons Pilita Corrales and Nora Aunor.

Corrales, Gutierrez's paternal grandmother, passed away on April 12 at the age of 85.

Her maternal grandmother, Aunor, succumbed to acute respiratory failure at 71 on April 16, with her family receiving the news on the same day Pilita was laid to rest.

Aunor was honored with a state funeral and buried in Libingan ng mga Bayani on April 22.

Gutierrez described the experience as difficult and unbelievable, noting that her family experienced consecutive wakes.

She shared that she initially planned a Holy Week vacation but decided to stay home to fix her house and study her script instead, a decision she found fortunate given the circumstances.

Gutierrez expressed her grief on social media, referring to her grandmothers as her "two new angels" in heaven and stating her determination to make them proud.

She also thanked the public for their support and prayers during this difficult time.
