Easterlies, ITCZ to bring scattered rains nationwide

Scattered rains and thunderstorms are expected in several parts of the Philippines due to the easterlies and the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ).

The easterlies will bring scattered rains and thunderstorms over Metro Manila, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, and parts of Northern Luzon.

Isolated light to moderate rains are expected in Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Benguet, and Pangasinan due to the easterlies.

The rest of Northern Luzon will have mostly cloudy skies with chances of isolated rain showers and thunderstorms, especially in the afternoon.

The southern part of Southern Luzon will experience fair weather with a chance of isolated rain showers and thunderstorms from afternoon to evening.

The easterlies may bring isolated rain showers to the central and southern parts of Palawan, as well as to Panay and Negros Islands.

The ITCZ will bring scattered rains and thunderstorms to Mindanao provinces including Surigao del Sur, Davao Oriental, Davao Occidental, Sarangani, Sultan Kudarat, and Tawi-Tawi.

Moderate to heavy rains in affected areas could result in flash floods or landslides, PAGASA warned.

The whole country will experience light to moderate winds and slight to moderate coastal waters.

No low pressure area is being monitored for possible tropical cyclone formation.
